Dear Barry,

Thank you for your fax of the 3rd May. I'm sorry your engineers failed because I was not at home, but I must confess to being somewhat surprised: Colin's letter did not mention the necessity of anybody being home or running the machine, and I would have expected that your engineer would have made some attempt to contact me, preferably before coming in order to ensure that I was at home, but also afterwards when he discovered I was not at home. You have my mobile phone number, but even without that he could have called my normal number, which is always diverted to the mobile number. I could have been back on site very quickly.

You state that you are having difficulty getting another engineer on site. Today we had some engineers on site to install the air conditioner in the extension to our house, so I asked them to measure the refrigerant pressure. At an ambient temperature of 14°, the low pressure side of the compressor showed a pressure of 380 kPa (54 psi), and the high pressure side showed a pressure of 1900 kPa (270 psi). They were of the opinion that these were excellent values, but of course you're welcome to come out again and confirm if you wish.

This leaves us back where we started. We still need resolutions to the following problems:

Please indicate how you intend to address these issues.

Sincerely,
