Date started: 8 November 2003 Volume: 20 litres Initial density: 1044 Calculated IBU: 24.3 Ingredients: 3kg Coopers Pale Malt extract 38g Fuggles pellets (5% alpha acid) 25g East Kent Goldings pellets (6.1% alpha acid) Coopers Pale Ale Yeast starter Boil 1.5 kg malt extract, fuggles for 60 minutes. Add remainder of malt, cooled slowly in fridge. Fermentation progress: 9.xi am 26° Pitched, dry hopped with Goldings pm 21° 0.17 Hz 10.xi am 19.5° 0.35 Hz pm 19.5° 0.32 Hz 11.xi am 19.5° 0.22 Hz pm 18.0° 0.13 Hz 12.xi am 18.0° 0.052 Hz pm 18.0° 0.041 Hz 13.xi am 18.0° < 0.02 Hz 15.xi am 18° racked. 9 July 2006: Last bottle drunk. Head still good for an extract brew, too much crystal
malt flavour. Doesn't seem to have suffered from the long storage.
