Salsa puttanesca means “whore's sauce”. It's used for pasta and is
usually better known in combination with the name of the pasta, for example spaghetti a la
puttanesca. There's nothing special about this recipe except that it's the one I use.

Method

In preparation, blend the tomatoes to a purée in a blender, stone and chop the olives
into four or five pieces each, chop the garlic so that you can press it directly into the hot
oil in the next step, and crush the anchovies to a pulp with a spoon.

Press the garlic through a garlic press and fry in oil until it's just drying out.

Add the other ingredients and bring to the boil. Add salt and pepper.
