This year, all the BoF (Bird of a Feather) sessions were held during the course of the day.
Well, most of them. After we established that the BoF (Boring old Fart) BoF got crushed
between two sessions, we decided that the same thing wouldn't happen to the BSD BoF, so we
adjourned to the bar after the last session on Thursday, the 9th.
I don't know everybody in these pictures. If you recognize somebody I left out, or if I made
a mistake, please let me know.
The theme of last year's conference dinner was balloon networking. This year it was
lighter-than-air vehicles. The extremely long time between courses was conducive to good
design.
Greg Lehey, Andrew Tridgell. We were making some final adjustments to Tridge's
lighter-than-air vehicle, to make it of the same density as air, so it neither rose nor
fell. You'll note the use of Jolt Cola in the balance mechanism; we had found better use
for the wine.
We subsequently tested the validity of Newton's second law in the lift. Unfortunately, the
balance turned out to be far too temperature sensitive, so we never quite got to conclusive
proof.
