Senator Ronaldson,
As my local senator, I ask that you reply to this message, addressing
all points. I would consider a lack of reply to reflect lack of
interest.
I have just received a difficult to open polemic entitled "A burden
that will affect the future of every Australian". Based on the
behaviour of your party in the last few weeks, I could be forgiven for
fearing that the Coalition had somehow come back into power.
I was ambivalent about the accession to power of Labor, but the
behaviour of your party, including your ridiculous waste of money
sending this letter, have convinced me that they're currently the only
game in town. Your approval ratings show that I'm not the only one,
and this letter only makes the matter worse.
What purpose does this letter serve?
- It offers no solution.
- It ignores the current global financial situation.
- It uses stupid arithmetic to make the repayment time look worse than
it is. I draw your attention to the fact that this is the only
promise that you make: if you come to power, you will not fix things
for 30 years.
The only conclusion I can draw is that this is a childish attempt to
denigrate the current government. In the process you are taking me
and other constituents to be fools. Please explain your motives and
what you would do differently.
