Salsa ranchera is a typical part of huevos rancheros. I tried this recipe, loosely based on various others, on 29 June 2010.
Unfortunately, as I mentioned on 30 June 2010, I think this recipe is boring. I won't delete it, but I probably won't make it again.
quantity | ingredient | step
125 g | onion, coarsely chopped | 1
25 g | cooking oil | 1 | ||
25 g | garlic, pressed | 2 | ||
600 g | tinned tomatoes | 3 | ||
30 g | red chilis, chopped into slices | 3
5 g | salt | 3 | ||
Fry the onion in the oil.
When the onions are about half cooked, add the garlic and cook a little longer.
Put into a blender with the tomatoes, chili and salt. Puree. Replace in the pan and cook until the sauce becomes thick.
