Australia is full of spiders, and from time to time I get the chance to take some real close-ups. Here's a particularly dopey one that I found in July 2009

Here's the equipment I used to take the photos. The camera is an Olympus E-30, connected with an adapter to bellows and lenses from my M42 Pentax days, mounted on a two-way rail. The larger views were taken with a 135 mm f/2.8 Exaktar, and the smaller with a 50 mm f/1.4 Super-Takumar mounted on a reversing ring (with the back of the lens towards the object):

I'm still trying to establish what kind of spider it is. Some say it's a Huntsman, but they look like this (this one's dead, thus the lack of detail: it's gone rotten):
