These are the flowers we had in the garden in early spring 2015, mainly on 19 September 2015. They're not all overly pretty, but the purpose of the photos is to
record what was in the garden at the time.
The winter was one of the coldest on records, and in combination with the current openness
of the garden, a lot of plants were seriously damaged or killed:
Still, there are signs of spring. The roses we transplanted were all subject to the same
cold, but it seems to have made little difference:
One rose (I think it's “Monsieur Tillier”) even has a bud:
The bulbs are flowering happily, though we don't seem to have many tulips. On the other
hand, the daffodils are finishing, and we have another kind of jonquil:
The Coleonema pulchellum has
started flowering, and the birches are producing the first leaves:
And then there were a couple of surprises on what is technically our land, just the other
side of the fence, where Dianne Marriott has planted some flowers. I have a feeling I
should recognize this one:
This one is surprising. It's
a monocotyledon, but it doesn't lok
like it:
Then there's a variegated form of Vinca
minor, which I've also seen across the road at the Mitchell's house:
And finally the wildflowers are coming again, though I don't seem to have taken photos of
this one before:
Here's the rest:
