These are the flowers we had in the garden in late winter 2020, mainly taken on 21 August 2020, a month before the Vernal equinox. They're not all
overly pretty, but the purpose of the photos is to record what was in the garden at the
time.
Some of my problem plants have given up, including, sadly, the original Hibiscus rosa-sinensis “Uncle
Max”, presumably not helped by being put outside:
That's not unusual for this time of year, but there should be some sign of new growth. It's
so wet out there at the moment that I didn't want to come closer to inspect it.
Spring is on its way, and the one kind of plant which seems to do well here is bulbs and
tubers. In particular, daffodils are everywhere:
The leaves still look as if it's missing something. But what? By comparison, the
Marriotts have what I think is a very similar bush, and it looks fine:
The Tropaeolum had taken over
the “front” bed in front of the “library”, so I pulled most it out, with the result that
there's now only a single flower:
