On 16 November 2014 the Dereel Historical Group collapsed spectacularly. In the wake of that, Julie Donaghy removed the entire facebook thread, so now only the NSA has access. Well, I still have all the notification emails, so here's a reconstituted copy. I don't get notifications for postings I make, so I recovered them from a different source, and the dates are different (time zones 19 hours apart, almost a whole day).

i am looking for volunteers to help me collate the history of dereel, i have a lot of information that needs to be sorted just had a great parcel sent to me from benalla with loads of info we can meet at my house around the kitchen table next tuesday the 18th nov about 11 to discuss where we go from here if you +are interested in helping out give me a call or message me if you are able to attend or give us some info you may have on the history of dereel we are aiming at putting a book together

i have a photographer Lisa Hunter to do the photos of any interesting places around dereel, i have a scribe who offered to do any typing, once i work out what other tasks are required i can ask for help then so thank you all, so tuesday is cancelled

I think it would be a good idea to establish a direction. First, which web site? We set up a wiki months ago, but has anything happened there? If we're going to collaborate, we need to have a means to do so. The idea of a separate scribe sounds like a recipe for disaster, and there are plenty of us who can take photos.

Greg Lehey my good friend offered to help and be our scribe on her laptop(she is a typist), and editor..). if you find anything wrong with that then you did not offer to do that & you never offered to take photos... a professional has offered. if you would like to take over with your website and your photography then go right ahead, you either work with me or against me your choice. end of story

Julie, to clarify. If that's end of story, then yes, indeed, it's end of story.

I did offer to write text, on several occasions. There are two possibilities: either your friend just types up what others have written. As I said, that's a recipe for disaster. Or people collaborate and do it together, and in this case typing isn't limited to your friend.

I also did not only offer to take photos, I did so and presented them to you. I'm sorry I'm not a Professional, but in a collaborative effort that's not as important as the results. If you have already engaged a Professional, you're effectively saying to others who might like to participate that they're not welcome. That's very much the tone of your message.

And it's not my web site, it's our web site, http://history.dereel.com.au/wiki/. We talked about it months ago, and I've offered on countless occasions to help other people add to it. Nothing happened.

So, my suggestion: let's get together on Tuesday (or another day if it suits people better) and discuss how to organize things. I have experience that I can share, and I'm sure others do too.
