Strictly speaking, this flower doesn't come from our garden: it comes from the other side of
the road, probably on the land belonging to our neighbours Helen and Robert. I found it
blooming there in late winter 2008 and was allowed to take
a couple of corms. This used to be “Mystery 12”; thanks to Leonne Carman I now
know that it's
an Chasmanthe_floribunda
(also known as African flag or African cornflag).
