This page was originally an attempt to sell this car, written in July 2001. I finally sold it on 9 March 2007. Here's the page
anyway, cleaned up but otherwise unchanged.
For sale: Citroën CX 2400
I have reluctantly decided to sell my Citroën CX 2400, which I have had for three years. I
originally bought it for towing horse floats, for which it is admirably suited.
Unfortunately, the road regulations in South Australia have changed, and I'm no longer able
to tow weights of over 1300 kg with it.
108 HP 2375 cc 4 cylinder motor, mounted transversely.
3 speed semi-automatic transmission (“C-Matic”). There is no clutch pedal,
and the box has a torque converter like an automatic transmission, but you change gear
manually.
Front wheel drive.
Unknown mileage. The speedometer only goes to 99999 km, and we're sure it's over that.
The last 5 digits may or may not be correct.
Hydropneumatic suspension, self-levelling, adjustable height. If you've never driven
one of these cars, you'll be amazed how comfortable they are, and how good the road-holding
is, especially on unmade roads.
Self-centering, speed dependent power steering. The faster you go, the less the assist,
which helps prevent oversteering at high speeds.
Excellent condition. This car isn't new, of course, but I've never seen one in better
condition.
“Pallas” trim: brown metallic duco, leather seats, electric windows, air
conditioning.
